How my journey began
My earliest, fondest memories as a child revolved around the things that made life appear magical. I would sit on the front steps of my house in March (when the wind was wildest) and try calming the breeze using my thoughts. My mother had, at one point, decided to buy a deck of oracle cards. She would spend nights in with girlfriends, exchanging readings at the kitchen table. I was fascinated. I remember making “pies” and “potions” with the neighborhood kids using mud, sticks, and stones. I remember bathing leaves in water and eating them because I believed they were charged with healing powers. (As an adult, I don’t recommend this).
As I grew older, I began to experience adults telling me their most personal thoughts and feelings. They seemed to find comfort in what little “advice” and empathy I could offer. While living on the coast in my early teens, I would perform healing ceremonies on the beach and offer personality readings to strangers. They, as well as myself, were shocked at how much I knew about them.
School never really interested me. I looked forward to time alone when I could study metaphysics and journal my dreams, desires, and experiences. (If only my science teachers taught quantum theory, and my math teachers explained to me that math is the language of the universe). When I thought about what I wanted to be when I grew up, I wasn’t sure. I refused to live a lackluster life, so I waited.
I later learned about the practice of massage therapy, while working in a salon as a Front Desk Coordinator after graduating high school. (I could be a healer while experiencing lower levels of emotion associated with my heightened sensitivity.) I thought, “many MTs are also energy workers. Maybe someday, somehow I could do both”.
I then completed a massage therapy program. I worked in the spa and wellness industry for years before deciding I couldn’t work for someone else anymore. My managers didn’t share my level of passion; they didn’t sincerely care about me or my purpose, and I didn’t like being told what to do. I quit. By the time I decided to open my own practice, I had already taken my Reiki certifications and could finally incorporate this other aspect of healing. Although, as a full time practicing MT and Energy Healer, I was still missing one facet.
The part of me that loves to be hands on with the things that make me happiest. Playing with my creative side. The side of me that wants to learn, and then teach what I’ve learned in order to help others. The magic. It brings a smile to my face through my senses, while allowing me to nurture my favorite pastimes since childhood.
As I continue to grow, I now have the ability to offer inspirational and motivational messages, products, and recommendations based on my personal experience, and expertise. Massage Therapy and Energy Healing gives me the upmost feeling of completeness knowing I can offer the total package. Wellness is harmony within the body, mind, and spirit. Every part of me is sprinkled throughout this website. I am so grateful and excited to be an essential piece of your healing and well-being.
