FAQs

How can I schedule an office session with you?

Contact me directly for a Massage or Energy Work via text or email. I will respond with a questionnaire asking your preferences on date, time, length of appointment, and type of service to ensure the customized session you’re requesting. I do schedule clients months in advance. By scheduling three consecutive appointments at a time, we are able to guarantee multiple sessions. In the meantime, I can also add you to the waiting list for the next opening within your availability.

What are your professional massage boundaries?

The client may choose to leave on or off whatever amount of clothing they choose, refuse any massage methods, or stop the massage or energy work at any time. The client will always be draped with the area being massaged undraped, and then covered afterwards. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the Massage Therapist and client is NEVER appropriate, and will not be tolerated.

Where are you located?

The studio is located in central Connecticut.

Why don’t you accept gratuity?

As the sole owner of my practice, I receive 100% commission on the services I provide. Since I am not splitting your service fee with anyone, I personally do not believe in accepting service gratuities. Additionally, my practice serves clients who want to live well and STAY well. Most of my clients see me every month as part of their wellness regimen. I am not a Massage Therapist you visit once to relax, and never return. I am in the business of facilitating change. I become an essential component to help create a complete wellness lifestyle. Therefore, I do not view my services as a luxury, but as a necessity. You don’t tip your family doctor or your dentist so you shouldn’t have to tip your wellness coach, either.

What should I do if I have a medical condition?

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the Massage Therapist informed of any current medical treatment, and changes in health condition. If you are unsure of whether or not massage is permitted, please check with your physician. In certain cases, I may ask for written permission in order to continue care.

What should I expect after a session?

Massage: Regardless of whether or not you have deep or therapeutic work, you will feel extremely relaxed post session. I have set up my practice in a way that appeals to all of your senses. This means that the levels of relaxation from hands on, coupled with additional relaxation techniques, will leave you in a state of euphoria. This is usually deemed “Massage Drunk” but more intense. It is suggested you wait a few minutes and fully wake up before operating your vehicle. I also inform clients that the levels of post massage soreness may vary depending on the massage session that day. We may have concentrated on one area using deep pressure while relaxing the rest of the body using a different pressure. Most massage sessions will leave you feeling a soreness level of 5-7 out of 10. Think of massage like a really great workout where all you have to do is relax. In some cases if the massage is purely for relaxation purposes, you can expect less soreness. Energy Work: Since we are clearing energy centers during a cleanse or intention session, it is expected that the emotions, feelings, and memories discussed and experienced will continue to surface for a period of time. I suggest reflection on these aspects of yourself in order to allow a full understanding and release. Journaling is a great tool. Since I give you a written explanation of what I receive, you’re able to focus on these specifics. As you are in a heightened state of emotion, I recommend giving yourself time to navigate through the beginning stages of healing first, before reaching out to anyone you may have negative feelings towards. Clients tend to be more “unfiltered” than usual during this time. Many people experience a shift in consciousness and awareness after a session. Think of it like navigating through dense fog and lifting heavy weight off of your shoulders. We are facilitating change. Therefore, I expect you to shift and change your perspective in a positive way, like peeling away layers of an onion that are no longer needed or beneficial to you.

What should I expect before my first session?

Upon your arrival, you will fill out an intake form. Once completed, I’ll give you the option to use the restroom, and offer a beverage (if you’d like). We’ll enter my office, where we sit down together and go over your intake form. Depending on your needs, I may have treatment suggestions for the first session, but I typically like to provide a full body massage first. Since each massage is customized, I can absolutely focus on certain areas of concern while still offering you a full session. This allows me to gain insight on what your body needs more concentration on in the future. This is somewhat like a “test drive” before making wellness plan suggestions. I’ll explain any tools used in the session, and answer any questions you may have. Once we plan your initial session, I allow you to change in privacy. When I enter the room (with your permission) we begin the massage. At the end of each session, I offer another beverage, answer any questions or comments regarding the session, and set you up with homework (wellness doesn’t end in my office – it’s a lifestyle).
